POSITION: Chef

LOCATION: Lagos
Organisation Relationships:
Directly report to: Restaurant General Manager
Directly Supervises: All kitchen personnel
Job Summary:
The purpose of the job is to create high quality meals and dining experience for customers by preparing and serving attractive, nutritious and palatable meals consistent with regulations and established policies, procedures and best practices.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and analyze recipes
Plan menus in conjunction with Restaurant General Manager and ensure uniform serving sizes
Supervise and participate in cooking and the preparation of foods.
Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
Determine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays
Schedule and coordinate the work of cooks and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is of stipulated quality and within budgeted labor cost goals
Check the quantity and quality of received products.
Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards, ensuring that all work/storage areas are clean, free of hazards and properly arranged
Assist in establishing controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft
Assist in food/ supply ordering and budgeting
Assist in hiring, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers
Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties.
Any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Objective : To ensure smooth running of the kitchen.

Job Requirements
Job Specifications:
OND. Additional qualifications in a related field will be an added advantage
